You think African Americans came up with Willie Horton and the Byrd tragedy capitalizing (ads)? The proposed Byrd hate crime law was talked about but hardly politicized in Texas. When did it become a matter of hate and insensitivity....hmmm about the time the dems needed the issue. And you think Republicans from among whites are responsible for race relation tension? (Abe Lincoln was Republican, or not ;^)} At least conservatives do not play the race card in such a contentious way, nor are self-righteous about race issues. Demagogery on the issue is not helping, as Jessie Jackson demonstrates. He has been sent out of Fla by dems, it seems. I never listen to Ollie, but I do listen to Rush. He cannot hold a candle to Carville and a list of others. I do not find him full of hate, but he is a conservative. I guess conservatives only express hateful views if they disagree. Look, I am sure Gore will pull out a victory claim. It is clear where this is headed. But there is no need to say Bush will bring the colored babies in the streets to abuse them, and a bunch of other ignorance. What we will get is more of the same with Gore, which we are getting now. Pissing, moaning, castigating. I did not say anything about any of that, only that you are making unfounded flammatory comments, which I stand by.
Here's my suggestion: Download Robert Earl Keen Gringo Honeymoon, The Road Goes on Forever, Copenhagen, and Merry Christmas From the Family (from Napster, even) and play them as loud as you can on the computer while engaging in this discussion. It might help the discussion. |
