If Gore wins, it is only because the rules for the election changed, after the balloting was over and after the Florida count, re-count, and re-re-count were done. Bush won the election, and he won the re-count. The rest is extraordinary.

Now, if Gore wants to prove his mandate, or even legitimacy, Gore must be called upon to demand a hand re-count of all 100,000,000 of us. Not a single vote of that one hundred million should have any less significance than those Palm Beach County votes that were hand-counted.
