Agree Jon. If we're going to hand recounts to remedy punch problems?

There's going to be 26 punch card using counties just in Florida, let along in WI, IA, OR and NM where all kinds of irregularities including fraud have been reported.

That's why so many have cautioned Gore this is a "slippery slope". To really fully enfranchise ALL the voters in ALL the dozens counties in ALL those states, many much larger than W. Pm Beach Cty, who know how much time that would take?

IMHO there's NO WAY it could be done in time for the scheduled 12/18 meeting of the presidential electors. And probably not even this year!

Then there are all the lawsuits that would have to be delt with in all those counties and states. Put all this together is it's clearly subversion of a legally conducted election. That is the path the Gore people are forcing this process to take.

It's destructive AND dangerous for this nation to start down that path. Because once we do, we have to follow that path through all the counties in states where close votes and irregularities both occurred.

THAT'S why I agree with the Bush attempt to stop the manual recount in W.P.B. via a court order Monday.

If that attempt fails, the only way choice left for Bush will be to fight fire with fire and demand EQUAL RIGHTS to a hand recount for ALL Rep voters who where unable to get their presidential vote counted due to punch card problems.
