It was indeed curious that throughout this entire Florida event the Republicans let all the discussion be on the heavily Democratic counties. Gore's lawyers and strategists were just more "on the ball" than Bush's.

The Bush team must have thought they could just sit back and let the electoral process run its course. They didn't understand what Daley meant when he said "the campaign continues!"

How is it possible that after 8 years of Clinton/Gore, Republicans haven't learned that in some people's view the law is just a means to an end, something to be twisted and contorted such that it becomes a passage to a desired result that is precisely opposed to what the law was intended to regulate?

Now we'll have at least 4 more years of that style of government.
