It seems to me that claiming the popular vote as the will of the people has some problems with it, particularly since the media screwed up so spectacularly with the the early predictions (accurate or not)and may have caused a lot of people to not vote. Also people in states (like Texas) who knew that their state was going with certainty for their candidate might have chosen to not stand in line for two hours or fight the weather or whatever, because their vote didn't really "matter". (And will anyone doubt this ever again!!) this happened to some high school workers I know who tried to vote during their lunch hour. If people had thought the popular count were the determining factor, I think turnout would have been much higher. I'm with you on starting over-- where do we find better candidates? (I still like the literary wives of the Rep. party the best)
