DD - maybe, but I doubt it. We're talking cold
political calculation here, on both sides.

More likely, Bush just thought he was in the winning position. A recount might go the *other* way, even in
the Repub districts. Who knows? Why upset the
applecart when you're already winning? In short,
he played it safe and didn't really access the
situation or that Gore would come after him so strongly.
