Bob- yes, and like most here I am saddled with long-term holding positions in core stocks like AOL, MSFT, CSCO, INTC from 1996-1998. Because I've been avoiding the taxes on capital gains and because of the commonly held belief (which affects me too) that I should be "holding" stocks until retirement, I have not been "trading" these longer term holdings. Nonetheless, I hate the downdrafts. Re: the qqqs, I have not looked at them over longer time periods than I said in my earlier post. The scheme I posted earlier I actually use to trade the more volatile stocks like BRCM, JNPR atc. The greater the daily range the better this scalping approach works
