In my book, the election mess is the best of all possible outcomes. Whether the next president is Bush or Gore he will have absolutely no mandate and an opposition party sniping at his every effort. The president will be impotent the next four years. Congress is now more closely divided than ever so we will have the greatest degree of gridlock we have had in many decades. No beating up on the pharma companies no messing with social security and no drilling in environmentally sensitive areas. When Wall Street figures this out it should turn positive in my opinion.
