VLNC did not get this contract - even though one assumes that the British Ministry of Defence knows very well what is going in in Northern Ireland...... Awarded $2.5 Million Contract by British Ministry of Defence NEWARK, N.Y., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Ultralife Batteries, Inc. (Nasdaq:ULBI) announced today that it has been awarded a supply contract from the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) valued at more than $2.5 million over the next three years (to March, 2000). The contract value could increase to approximately $3.7 million if options are exercised for increased quantities during the second and third years of the contract. The contract calls for Ultralife to produce high-energy, non-rechargeable batteries for use in military equipment. Ultralife will commence delivery of these batteries in approximately July, 1997. The batteries are manufactured by Ultralife's subsidiary, Ultralife Batteries (UK) Ltd., in Abingdon, England.
