Lott Urges Total Hand Recount

Trent Lott today, interviewed on Fox News Sunday by Tony Snow and Brit Hume, has called today for a state-wide, county-by-county, hand count of all ballots in the state of Florida.

This statement by Lott echoes what has been suggested here at NewsMax as Bush's only hope in Florida.

Lott also indicated that the Bush team probably should have called for this before the 72-hour period expired in which to formally do this, although he indicated that such a request would now appear to be appropriate in light of the Democrats' choosing only four precincts that favor the Gore ticket.
