Yes, i've heard that, don't know the truth of it ... odd in a way, because that's coming full circle, it was the republican government of Eisenhauer who so badly mishandled Castro's cleansing of the island of the pig Batista et al, and thusly drove Fidel into the camp of the commies in the first place.

Your neighbours tend to view republican administrations with trepidation, their history is not brilliant, from well before the screwups of Ike through the duplicities of Tricky Dick and the savagery of that movie actor whatisname who continues to this day blowing the limbs off and the life out of little nicaraguenses with those mines he had his minions plant so indiscriminately ... along the way i believe Daddy Bush was not entirely unimplicated in the Caravana de Muerte in 1973 Chile, among other expressions of yanqui arrogance.

Dubya speaks reasonably competent spanish, he demonstrates at least a vocal respect for the latino and he quite rightly points out the advantages of mutually beneficial relationships with those to the south of you ... no question this has garnered him a vote or two ... as for taking the position of keeping a child from his father, well i think you know just how far you'll get with that with a mexicano.

But what he does do is make people wonder if perhaps not every single member of the republican party is a completely xenophobic pointy-headed little moronic brutalisor of his fellow man, so that's probably good for his vote count, eh ... i mean, like, there's the odd hispano registered, lol.

As for marco/marcos and its variations, i've heard that it means in hebrew polite or courteous ... or maybe that was Aramaic ... can't figure for sure if you're joking with the russian bit there, but i never saw you stuck for words, how about you tell me -g-
