Thanks again for great help. I defragged my computer for the first time (it is two years old and been through plenty) a couple of days ago. It took an hour and I found it quite interesting to watch the process via graphic display. I'd say my hard drive was in a serious mess; but, after the job was done, I can't tell the difference in performance. I imagine you are right that the hd is so fast that the fragmentation barely matters.
