Scott,

I'm not sure if Bush's DUI was a felony. In 1976, there was no MADD and DUI's not involving accidents were treated very leniently by today's standards. No published report that I've found states that it was a felony. His punishment was a 2-year license suspension and $150 fine for a first offense which I would consider a tough penalty for those days.

I think you've confused his reluctance for foreign adventurism with isolationism. In the debates (did you watch them all?), the only country he would have refrained from entering was Haiti. He didn't want to engage in nation building. Bosnia would have had more European involvement.

I believe the hand count injunction attempt could be a ploy, a bargaining chip. They filed on a Sat. knowing that a judge wouldn't rule until Mon. at the earliest. They may drop the suit in the interest of the country tomorrow. The law states that the hand counts must be finished by Tues. evening and the Dems are filing for extensions to the time limit. They will look like they are dragging the election out after the Republicans drop their suit. All this is only my opinion of course.

BTW, I knew that about Canada. It has been in the 1 or 2 position for sometime.
