From what I'm reading here, most of you definitely don't fit in the buy and hold or value investment category at all but rather more the momentum and daytrading type. Does anyone here really know the definition of longterm? It's definitely more than a mouse click and still more than 12 months. The way the discussions are going here, you'd never think this thread was about a market leader in fiber optics communication. I see too many predictions made by comparing NT with many of the fly-by-night dotcoms which were pumped and sold to the public by the same crooked brokerages/analysts which are now making idiotic conclusions on companies whose growth rates of +50% isn't good enough anymore. I didn't buy into many of the dotcom scams which have recently crashed and burned because I didn't believe and trust the business concept even when it was promoted by some of the biggest investment houses/analysts on the planet. And today, it's these same houses/analysts which are trying to convince us to sell our holdings in some of the most elite stocks of this decade. Yes these people have the power to move the herd of investors one way or another thereby directly affecting the markets overall. As for me, I'll sell my equities when I no longer believe my investment analysis for a particular company to be correct. So, while there may be money to be rescued by selling your shares in a falling market, I still choose to not got off the cliff just because some twerp on wall street says I should. I'll take my chances when armageddon comes.
