From Dow Jones Newswires: C-Cube Microsystems Unveils Upgraded DVD Decoder Tech MILPITAS, Calif. (Dow Jones)--C-Cube Microsystems Inc. (CUBE) introduced upgraded ZiVA DVD decoders with SecureView copy protection and decryption technology. In a press release Tuesday, C-Cube Microsystems said the decoders are sampling now and said it expects volume production in the third quarter. C-Cube Microsystems said the single-chip DVD decoder incorporates DVD consortium's copy protection scheme known as content scramble system. The company said the DVD consortium and its copy protection technical working group developed the content scramble system in order to prevent unauthorized copying of motion pictures and other filmed entertainment from prerecorded DVD video discs. C-Cube Microsystems manufactures integrated video compression technology.
