I have had several PMs about what I am going to do. The answer is:

Stand Pat!

After a lot of thought over the weekend, I have changed my mind. The first thing for those of you reading this to remember is, I am in a 401 account.

MY DECISION HAS NO TAX CONSEQUENCES!

My thinking is as follows:

1) We will remain in this Bear market until the political situation is clarified. That will not be before this weekend, if then. I see no sustainable upside until this is settled.

2) Therefore, the best I can expect is that my portfolio will not go down any more than it has.

3) I have just taken a 20% haircut, and I could easily do the same again this week.

4) I find that all of this is causing me more worry than it ever has before. I see no immediate upside, and a lot of potential downside.

So I have placed orders to sell my positions at the market Monday morning and go to all cash for now. I have no way to know if the market will open up or down Monday, and I am not going to try to play games and time it.

I am out for now. I have just got rid of a lot of worry, and will sleep better.
