Global TeleMedia International and BentleyTel Find Australian Northern Territory Government Project Delivers More Than Expected
BentleyTel Management Expects That the Increase in Active Users and the Ease With Which They Can Now Access the Internet, Will Drive a Significant Increase In Revenue Over and Above the Baseline AUD $1 Million Per Year For 5 Years Originally Stated
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Global TeleMedia International (OTC Bulletin Board: GTMI) (www.GTMI.com) announced that, majority owned subsidiary, BentleyTel Australia's network engineers working closely with their Ericsson and Cable&Wireless Optus counterparts, have succeeded in overcoming initial technical challenges in establishing what could be one of Australia's largest Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
Network specialists in BentleyTel Australia's Darwin Network Operations Center completed fine tuning the access points into the nationwide network which allows government employees to not only log on to the internet from their offices but also securely from any capital city in Australia.
Felino Molina, President of BentleyTel.com Australia said, "The completion of the project to deliver Internet access to the Northern Territory Government, is a significant achievement. Secure dial-up access had to be provided to authorized employees who need access to files inside the Government's firewall and this access had to be available across Australia. We had to ensure high reliability and meet very exacting specifications for this service."
To meet this challenge, BentleyTel.com Australia's R&D team developed a 'thin client, web based management system' for processing new accounts and making modifications to existing ones.
This service also required a billing system to provide monthly information on a user and departmental basis and a 'third party help desk' user account management system.
VP of Network Systems Rob Merkwitza remarked, "We were very pleased to find that initial entry of Government employees into our Authentication and Accounting servers showed 50% more users than initially expected.
To date over 4,600 users have logged onto their workstations and been able to access the Internet via a Checkpoint Firewall and RADIUS solution developed and maintained by Bentleytel.com Australia in our Darwin NOC."
GTMI President, Jonathon Bentley-Stevens said, "This type innovation and software development makes it very difficult for competitors to duplicate, and this will keep BentleyTel / GTMI ahead of the competition. The next step is to negotiate to expand the services to all state Governments in Australia. This is a first and there is no reason why we cannot offer the same service to other governments. Australia and level of Government aid to developing countries is seen as an example within the governments of the Pacific Rim countries. We intend to use this as an entry point to offer VPN network services initially through BentleyTel.com Philippines and Malaysia. Five-year Government contracts are a mark of achievement and stability. Not all companies are awarded these opportunities. Through these contracts and with partnerships with Ericsson (ERICY), BentleyTel will generate significant and increasing revenues for many years to come."
