If Gore is smart he will continue to do what he has been doing ... going to the movies, playing touch football, etc. Given enough rope, the Republicans will hang themselves. I suspect Bush will win the election because he and his brother have enough Repubicrook judges in their hip pocket, as was evidenced today.

So Bush will enter the presidency:

(1) With no clear mandate from the American people.

(2) With a reputation for being a drunken frat boy.

(3) With less popular vote than his opponent.

(4) With a win cemented only after judicial maneuvering down in Florida.

(5) With 97 percent of the African-Americans in the United States aligned against him.

(6) Also consider the likelihood that Bush will deliver his first state of the union address as the stock market hits a new 5-year nadir.

Like you, I agree that whichever candidate wins the election will, in fact, be a big loser one to four years down the road. That's why I am now in favor of GWB winning the election.
