Salt Lake City - Circuit City, Future Shop check:

Future Shop:
- Salesperson tried to sell me on speeds and feeds of the EZ135. When pressed he stated that Zip is "outselling EZ135 5 to 1". After more pressing he said that "while the EZ135 has better specs, it's a good thing they have the warranty or he would be facing a lot of upset customers." Some customers who bought the EZ135 requesting Zips for an exchange.
- Three EZ135's available, 5 Zips (one of which was bought by someone else while we were talking.
- The Epson zip parallel port Zip is selling for $20 more than the Iomega Zip pp.
- Out of Zip disks, but expected a shipment anytime.
- Three Jaz drives and two cartridges available.
- No Systems with Zip were seen.

Circuit City:
- HP Pavillion and Packard Bell prominently displayed with zip internals. Picked up some HP literature and they had a "Built-in Zip drive" on the front cover of the brochure as the only key selling point.
- One parellel port Zip available from a shelf that had room for six. Salesperson said they restock every night (this was at noon).
- Sold out on Zip SCSI Accelerator cards (I wonder what the margin is for Iomega on these?).
- Iomega Promotional material had a "Surf the Net" Free offer. When a buyer purchases a Zip or Ditto they get a 30-day Netscape Navigator trial. It's good to see them push that "catcher's mitt" for the NET theory.
- No SyQuest products sold.
- No idea what I was talking about when I asked about LS-120's.

Overall an excellent store audit.
