A snippet from the Electronics Alert dtd 05-26-97......
"Why Dataquest is bullish

What's making Dataquest more optimistic about this year's chip sales is stronger system demand--one example is better-than-expected PC sales. It recently revised its estimate upward of 1st quarter PC growth in North America to 21%. Dataquest is looking for a 12.1% hike in chip revenues this year, up from $142 billion in '96 to $159 billion. Demand side of the equation remains solid, analyst Joe Grenier said at a Dataquest meeting this past week in Japan. What can easily get out of whack, he said, is the supply side."
