1) In the state of Florida, or anywhere else, does a candidate have a right to request a recount?

2) How many recounts has the Gore Campaign requested?

I can answer the questions.

First, yes, a candidate has a right to request a recount. Florida state law stipulates a candidate has a right to do this in specific counties rather than burdening the state with a whole statewide recount. And Gore has requested only a limited one in only four counties. The Bush campaign declined its right to do so in other counties. Tactical error on their part, so why must the whole nation suffer? It shouldn't.

Secondly, the Gore campaign has requested only one recount. There is absolutely nothing unreasonable about this. Anyone who thinks differently, including the Bush campaign, is completely unreasonable and unfair.
