Not true. Palm Beach votes will count (first recount at least) and they will likely get an extension. Any judge down there knows the partisan Fla. Secretary of State has leeway and can (and should) allow extensions, but won't solely because she's Republican. Florida courts are reportedly pretty liberal so the GOP may not be able to stop the re-counts.

The majority of Americans (60%) want to see these re-counts finalized. Most lawyers predict the Tuesday deadline will be extended. Why not? The only reason not too is to protect Bush's fragile lead. Everyone knows hand counts are more accurate than machine counts. Even Bush has agreed with that according to a law he signed in Texas.
I know the GOP is scared but that's not reason to cut off the process and deny democracy its due course.

If the deadline is extended however expect more lawsuits from the GOP. And more counter-attack from the dems. This could indeed end up in the Supreme Court. How long will this take? Well it better not take 4-5 weeks or else if
Florida isn't resolved by December 18 the whole state doesn't count. If so Gore probbaly wins but democracy again will lose.

Getting very crazy down there. I don't expect either side to concede unless absolutely forced to. And from their point of view why should they until all complete counts and re-counts are certified and free of viable lawsuit challenges?

However if the recounts are allowed and absentee votes still give it to Bush then Gore will concede.

Irony, so far the recounts are helping Bush a little.
