Scumbria,

If the Florida state judge rules against the Secretary of State, and extends the period of time for the hand count, I imagine the market will decline on the assumption that Bush will start legal processes in other states. If the court rules that the Secretary of State's decision stands, then I think the market will rally, even though Gore's people could appeal, the guess will be that he will lose and the end is close. I don't see any options for Gore beyond the hand count. Do you?

Interesting that the Gore camp is playing the partisan card with the Secretary of State and Jeb. She is said to be a personal friend, and worked on the Bush election. It's easy to suspect that her decision is colored by her being a staunch Republican. It's hard to believe it wouldn't be.

Any predictions?

John
