hi kimrric, as u know, gilder has been very vocal in his support for terabeam and perhaps rightly so...he has somewhat dismissed optical access's technology on his telecosm lounge on his website from what i have heard...i think terabeam, airfiber and optical access have huge potential...terabeam and airfiber have backing from LU and NT/QCOM respectively and that is their main advantage(ie-support, marketing and research capacity)...mrvc backs OPXS(recent combo of astroterra and jolt i believe)...imo the risk in this co. is not with losing the optical signal in fog or etc, it is the limitations of the technology itself(ie-can trasmit only 1Gps currently)...landlines can do 10Gps and soon 40 Gps...co's like avnx can split a lambda 1000 fold(in the lab anyway)...while the long haul/core mkt will cont. to grow, so will the metro and lastmile mkt...that is where co's like OPXS will have an advantage as co's can deploy airless fiber at 1/10th the cost and with alacrity, as streets do not have to be dug up...when nazzy/fibers recover, opxs should carry a significant mkt. cap when it goes public cause they are the first company in this sector to go public(ie-jnpr and avci in pseudo terabit routing mkt)...goodluck, thanks for ur post, u are the first person to reply<gg>.
