cpnomis, "Hand counts" are by definition subjective. If a ballot is indented, did the person vote for that candidate- or change his/her mind and stop pushing in the punch box- or just rest the voting awl on that particular spot? I don't know. If we get hand recounts/be subjective, then Florida should hand recount/be subjective over the entire State. Good news is that Volusia County is about 50% completed on a hand recount and has only found a net 2 vote difference- suggests that integrity of ballots is still intact in that County. I think that Broward County just dropped plans for a hand recount and will go with the official vote tally figures from the initial recount. As previously mentioned most vote fraud comes from "within the poll workers"- What quality of poll workers and who oversees the pollworker is the key there.... I worked a little bit on the New Mexico election..So I'm fascinated by the horse race there. Four vote margin with 257 absentee ballots yet to be crosschecked (make sure absentee voters did not also vote at polls) and tallied. In re jobs. Anyone interested in being a rep for a drilling equipment company Martin Decker Totco (sub of Varco) in west Texas/Rockies?. I think starting salary is $25/hour, but with overtime, travel time, you make about $75,000/year. Health benefits, 401(k) etc.
