Michael that DLS you got does it favor Bush or Gore? Because you have it all backwards. <ggg> Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. For the MACHINE counts 1. They count the ballots they DO NOT SORT THEM. 2. They do not 'throw them away' meaning none are discarded. 3. The ballots that are marked in error do not count-->some 20 K in Palm Beach County. 4. The hand recount includes these, but they are randomly mixed in with all of the other ballots. A hand recount favors the prevailing candidate because these are a new source of votes if the machine did not count them by 'mistake'. The larger the county the larger the new source of votes. In addition a hand recount might also pick up some systematic error eg, a screwed up counting machine that might also be present. However, the assumption that 19 votes out of 4600 will extrapolate into 1900 votes for gore is probably far fetched. V My 1-T line is marvelous too!
