Joe The fact that this is a 3,000 year conflict should have dawned on the US foreign policy team. I wonder if Clinton thought he could charm mortal enemies into becoming the best buddies. How many Rose Garden photo-ops did we have during Clinton term? How many hand shakes? Clinton has taken the peace process the farthest since Israel was founded in 1947. There is a tentative division of land and a framework for working together. Because something is difficult, you suggest we not try? The Israelis are not stupid; do you think they respect Clinton only because of American largesse? He has played an important role in trying to shape a peace between them and the Palestinians. There will be peace in the Middle East eventually.....it just will take longer than anyone wants. ted
