California delegation aids Florida recount Tuesday, November 14, 2000 By Rick Orlov Staff Writer A hardened team of California political activists has been dispatched to Florida to help oversee the recounting of ballots in four counties. Leading the delegation is Bob Mulholland, political adviser to the California Democratic Party, who said Monday that the members of the state delegation are among 70 Democrats from across the country brought to Florida to help in the hand recount. "We want to make sure that the country doesn't have a shotgun wedding of (Texas Gov.) George W. Bush," Mulholland said in a telephone interview. dailynewslosangeles.com
