Story Filed: Tuesday, November 14, 2000 12:48 AM EST

SEOUL, Nov 14, 2000 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) -- Qiaoxing Hyundai System Communication Facility Co. has begun
installing CDMA ground network stations for tests in Huizhou, China, in preparation for the production of code division
multiple access (CDMA) mobile phones.

Qiaoxing Hyundai is a joint venture between China's telecommunication company, Qiao Xing Universal Telephone, Inc., and
Hyundai Electronics Industries Co.

Riu Lin Wu, Chairman of the Board of Qiao Xing Universal, said Tuesday: "Establishing the new stations will result in our joint
company's success in the Chinese mobile telecommunications industry."

Qiaoxing Hyundai started building a cellular phone plant in June after the Chinese government decided to allow 3-5
companies to produce CDMA phones in October last year.
