in Chicago I needed no ID, but they did ask for my name and address and then asked me to sign my name. I had jogged to the voting place (sort of a tradition for me) and yup, all the while they were sure scrutinizing my dimples.

On another note, I voted early, made small talk with the election officials and learned that they would be putting in a 13 hour day. The folks I saw were very conscientious, kind of like for once they had been piped directly into the vast continuum. I would be shocked if they weren't burnt out by noon. Wonder what kinds of mistakes happened thereafter.
