OK If I Call u JIM ? I jus got started this day trading, followed
one lead to a IRC channel but it was empty cept for me.
Here's what I'm up to, I got account at waterhouse and climed on
webbroker..get to make trades at $12 a pop, or in and out at $24,
thats cheap enough to make money on small moves..right down to
1/16ths if you move a 1000 shares.
I play penny stocks a lot, but prefer them to be above a $1, and
listed on one of the majors.
I do AON..ALL OR NONE tades as I got stuck one day with just a
couple hundred shares of a 1k order filling..well the comis is still
the same , its flat up to 5000..I have not tried the 5000 lot yet
as I'm scared a all or none of that size could hang up and not
move so mostly I use 1k bites. AON..and often GTC..( good till cancel)
the GTC lets me type every thing but if I want to change it it's
fast as most of it's typed in already..all I do is click click,
and change the price..mostly I use limit orders..but if a thing
gets looking good and I have it loaded to sell or buy..I can click
click..tag "market" and poof she is gone or I got her, it's like
they exicute fast at market..but having all of it typed in first
with a slight out of range price lets me move faster.
To top that off sometimes my out of range price will actully take,
I like thoes kinds of suprises.
It's easy to start on a stock if you catch her going the right way
the first time and sell her for a profit right off, then it is if
you buy the sucker and then she ticks down, seem to day trade you
also need a stock that has fair volume.
I'm new to it but it's not bad, I use both my regular and IRA to
play in and swith from one to the other, I'm more conservative with
the IRA..like if I"m biding a stock it'l be 1-1/16 in the IRA, and
and 1-1/8 in the regular...the IRA don't get as many buys but what
it gets I can sell cheaper too. I try to have stacked bid and sell
orders on any stock I'm playing, like two buy orders and if I'v
gotten any of it two sell orders with prices staggered.
My plays today went to sleep..only had one sell go through,
so I hopped over and bought a few puts on AOL..kind think that
may have been a mistake . :-(
thats it for now
Jim
