A prominent TA came in with this write up on ALRM in todays daily report.

Sorry that the point & figure chart is not legible, however, it shows that ALRM just broke through major resistance after trying to break through on 6 different occasions. I think we will be well rewarded in the near future!!

TWO SMALL CAP IDEAS: ALRM & GBFE
Today we wanted to feature two small-cap ideas, in fitting with
the brief discussion above on the VLE-SPX. The two we want to review
today include Protection One (ALRM) and Golden Books Family
Entertainment (GBFE).
[ALRM] Protection One (12 1-2) provides security alarm
monitoring services for residential and small business subscribers. ALRM
predominantly markets its products in the Western states. So ALRM is a
member of the Protection & Safety sector which is in a Bear Correction
status (column of X's) at 42%. So the field position is decent for this
group. This stock caught our eye last week when it gave a major buy
signal at 11 1-2. More specifically, ALRM had been trading in a sideways
pattern for several months having formed support in the 9 1-2 area, but
also creating plenty of resistance at 11. This stock had hit this level six
times before finally getting through it last week. The move to 11 1-2 broke
a sextuple top and also violated the bearish resistance line. So this is a
major buy signal for this stock. There is no noticeable resistance on the
chart for ALRM till the 16-17 area. The vertical count for ALRM is 18
and an horizontal count would yield a much greater objective. The weekly
momentum just turned back to positive last week and the RS chart though
still in O's is not far from reversing back up. Those looking for a new idea,
consider buying ALRM here; you can buy partial positions here then add
to them on a pullback. We will use a stop loss point of 9 which would
break a triple bottom.
