(Nasdaq: WIKS), a leading distributor of building materials and manufacturer of value-added building components, today reported sales of $106.7 million for the five weeks ended October 28, 2000 compared to $119.3 million and $102.9 million reported for October 1999 and October 1998, respectively. As in recent months, lumber price deflation continued to negatively affect sales results and operating performance during the month of October. However, management indicated there was a lessening of the decline of prices overall.
