Hi Tim - re: spin, that is precisely why I am equally skeptical of both sides.
Re: negotiation, you are right in the sense that each will seek hi ground. However, each proposal should be at least physically possible, even if it is not a likeable solution all around. I mean, why Sec Baker treated the general public likes a bunch of idiots by saying something like that, I don't know. I mean, maybe people who are camp biased think it is a reasonable proposal, but round peg and square hole simply don't fit! I hate politics, but I hate more when people insult our intelligence. Be fair, how can anyone make a proposal like this with a straight face!
Re: negotiation, Barak. Well, I am not a devoted student of ME politics, but PM Barak has certainly won my admiration over Chairman Arafat. If we juxaposed the two situations, the future Bush administration has a lot more to lose than the future Gore administration by insulting people's ingelligence this way. The repercussion can indeed extend beyond who will get the prize!
Finally, as I ve pointed out before, I think FL should simply have a manual recount for all 67 counties with a set of guidelines applicable to all counties.
