There are some big players in the WDM market (the hottest one right now is CIEN) but they all seem to be specializing in long-haul applications for the telco's. CIEN has a over a hundred million in sales to just a few big customers. Lightpath doesn't want to try to take on these players so they are developing (jointly with Eagle Optoelectronics) short-haul WDM applications for the LAN.
