Seems to me that the state of the art in shaving and Coke has been fairly stable for a while. The 3-blade shaver and ``new'' Coke are prime exhibits for the possibility of a regression. On the other hand, Sandy Weill probably deserves credit for helping modernize the legal framework applied to financial services industries in the US, which made them uncompetitive with European competitors (Europe has never had a strict separation between banking/investment services/insurance).
