I agree. Small states -- regardless of whether Dem or GOP --will not favor eliminating Electoral College. Even Daschle said as much the other day on C-Span. Having said that ... if, four years from now, this election repeats itself, and the popular vote winner loses again, then all hell is going to break loose.

Re: your not having much faith in polls: You should have been listening more to what I was saying regarding the polls and put less stock in Limbo's Portrait of America and Battleground polls. Polls are just like mutual funds: Past success does not guarantee future earnings. Anyone could see that P of A's sampling tactics excluded a large number of Americans because of their focus on "those likely to vote."
