i'd like to know from you what to expect from AMAT...do you see cautious guidance?

Given everything else that's going on in the sector, I don't see how they could give bullish guidance.

OTOH, the industry wide conversion to Cu from Al could leave certain semi equipment providers in better positions than others. This doesn't mean new capacity is being added, just that Al equipment is going to be replaced. If a process shrink is involved, that will increase capacity, but using AMD as a guide they went from .18um Al in Austin to .18um Cu in Dresden. I believe Intel plans to go straight to .13um Cu.

There's no telling what the reaction will be IMO. They could give bad guidance, but if that's better than expected it could be viewed as bullish maybe?
