There exists precedent in courts in many states on this. And no one has yet successfully petitioned different results of an election based on the behavior of the media.

I agree with you, it's a beat deal to have the media project a winner when polls are still open. I think what happened this time around is the extra pressure put on the networks due to the Internet.

Hopefully, this election will produce three results:

1) A clear winner for president.
2) Standardized national voting systems. (Maybe tax a percentage from each campaign's fundraising to pay for standardized voting machines?)
3) Standards for media behavior when projecting races.
