Maybe, maybe not. Gore (I can't believe I am saying this) may do the right thing soon. See Gore, for all the things I think he is (and most of those are not good things) is not stupid. Gore knows that the time is drawing near where he has to weight the damage that he is going to do to his favorite cause: GORE. That said, when the writing is on the wall (and its pretty much up there now) Gore will cut his losses and live to play another day. Count on it. So Bush has to do very little in the context that you are referring to. He only has to wait until Gore elects (sorry couldn't resist) to protect Gore. Its sooner than you think. TH
