RE: "The demand for accuracy doesn't exist in the vacuum. "

Jozef,

And an unrealistic deadline should not deny accuracy:

According to the Judge:
By the Associated Press,

"By concentrating on the deadline ...This interpretation ignores, however, section 102.166, Florida Statutes, which gives to the County Canvassing Board the authority to authorize a manual recount.
...It is unlikely that the Legislature would give the right to protest returns but make it meaningless because it could not be acted upon in time.''
"Done and ordered in Chambers at Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, this 14th day of November, 2000."

(102.166 = Accuracy/Manual counts) <> (102.112 = Unrealistic manual count deadline)

Absentee ballots come in Friday. The SOS could have made Friday the deadline, not Tue. Fortunately, the Judge ruled against SOS with respect to accepting late returns (as explained above).

Regards,
Amy J
