Good post. Regarding your point on CSCO being in a rut.. or the market being in a rut and questions regarding CSCO's future. First I think you're right - CSCO does seem to have lost some of that "shine" that it could do no wrong.... and in fact, the company has performed well. This hasn't translated into the valuation probably because the valuation itself was so high and with it came added scrutiny. Those bearish on the stock now frequently dig into the books and pull out small nuggets which they discuss as if they're boulders. This has caused some weakness in the stock price... however I continue to believe that - all else being equal - CSCO will continue to perform and should caputure a requisite valuation commensurate with this performance. Over time these things tend to work themselves out. That said there are stock out there that are probably easier doubles but looking for doubles was 1999 this is 2000, things are different. I think less risk, more large cap makes sense.
