Linux is a bad joke

Linux company shares are an even bigger joke

No self-respecting company (and IBM does not count) will back it really, compared to their proprietary and therefore more profitable systems

This one really was a bubble, a la internet stocks, and compared to Biotech (Health for the future), optics ( 300 Million tons of copper to change) storage (data, dat & more data) and data networking (VoIP, 3rd world & asia/developping countries), it does not stand much with me.

Finally MSFT's products are coming ever closer to real quality, witness windows 2000 lack of difficulties (as well as service packs). Win 2000 (and NT before it) are a hell of a lot easier to support, and to hire people for, than 20 Linux versions and some techno-geek in long hair & sandals as your SA.

Move on.

even super-techs that ** hate ** microsoft , that have tried Linux are plainly disgusted at it's complexity, and the fact it is hard to administer and you need to tune it ( a la Unix). If you count on IBM to offer "respectability" dream on.

IBM is the ** most ** unfocused company out there, with AS/400, OS/390, AIX and Linux offered already, and god knows what else.

Linux has grabbed the low-end, cheapo websites, or the true pie-in-the-sky idiots (a.k.a. rabid MSFT fans). There will be, and never will be, real Fortune 5000 CRITICAL adoption of this technology.

JMO, but a pretty informed one, LOL !

take care
jean
