I will only respond to this once more and then I won't clutter the thread with OT.

Bush is not opposed on principal as he had a hand recount in his own election for governor in Texas. Gore has not forced anyone to do anything. By law he has requested recounts ina close election. The first machine count had bush ahead by about 1800 votes. The secoind machine count had Bush ahead by only 300 votes. That's a 1500 vote difference between the two counts. A difference that is 5 times greater than the 300 vote lead Bush now has.

Gore has a right, and more importantly "We the People" have a right, to ask for a human count. The law in florida also allows for the human recount.

I personally think they have both behaved badly in the last few days. They should have stood together and said do a hand recount of the entire state and let the best man win. Then shut up and get out of the way.

Best to you JDN,
jb
