Tobacco attack a perfect example of GOP disinformation.
Sure Al farmed tobacco and grew up in a tobacco state. He ran for congress and senate and supported tobacco interests. Then his sister died, more and more evidence came out against the tobacco marketeers and the realisation hit him that he'd been wrong. This happened also to a friend of mine who is in the RJ Reynolds family. He now campaigns against tobacco. The GOP took this moral issue which Gore is now on the right side of and made it look like a character flaw. If any of you had to watch a sibling die of lung cancer perhaps it would change your mind too.

Other BIG LIES by the GOP have been to attack Gore for his #1 strengths as a defender of the environment and an innnovator of the internet. The ridicule the GOP spin-meisters and character assasins managed to concoct are laughable except that they instill just enough doubt and cynicism to cloud the water. I think Al should have stood up and defended himself more against this nonsense. He never sais he invented the internet but Bush himself kept repeating that lie over and over again. Imagine, to attack Al for his early-early promotion of the internet which now benefits us all so much and his early activism against Global Warming and toxic waste tragedies like Love Canal. The BIG LIE involves ridicule and making the Gore zinc mine look like a terrible ecological disaster. Also to try and link Gore Junior with Occidental Petroleum's environmental issues in the Amazon. Such utter exaggerated nonsense but Al-haters at least buy it. And they also tried to pin Gore with a charge of exaggerating facts. What hypocrites. LOL.
