Why shouldn't every voter in America have a right to have their vote counted? That makes as much sense as Gore's pursuit of the theft of the American election. On a sincere basis, I believe the machine count, as was intended and was the rule at the time of the election, should be the measure. There will never be a perfect election but it should be consistent. To hand count this punch cards means there is the possibility of tearing away a corner and then declaring it a vote or if dimpled (pregnant chads) cards are allowed a tiny move with a fingernail would create a vote. Not a good deal. The last machine count should be the one of record. Then simply add the absentees and declare a winner. That winner is still unknown but would be determined by the absentee plurality.
