Re: " if Via Technologies sells these chip sets on the open market, Intel's Pentium MMX customers can also build very fast INTEL machines with socket 7/AGP/100 MHz bus speeds!"

It seems as though AMD/Via have a more difficult uphill climb than Intel with their respective 100MHz chip sets. Given this, it may be reasonable to assume that Intel comes to market first, and thus maintains their lead.

Even if Via is first with their chip set, the 100MHz chip set may end up benefiting Intel more than the K6! Another Intel win, and Intel's P-II 100MHz chip set would be forthcoming soon.

Although AMD, Cyrix, etc. are snapping at their feet, Intel seems to have maintained complete control of the situation. Its as if they planned it this way (probably the case).
