Signs of life in the elephant:

Not only does G* have the world surrounded but my contacts continue to indicate that the elephant is coming to life. We can criticize the effectiveness of ads on Monday night football, CNBC or whatever but we can't ignore the fact that gusa is paying for those ads. I personally think any ad is better than no ad. In addition to these ads I am told that gusa is aggressively providing coop advertising to distributors who want to do advertising and will match dollar for dollar whatever they spend. I am also seeing more direct sales folks enter the scene some of which are exclusively G*. All this is a clear indication that Vod is not backing away. Too little too late? Maybe but with data on the horizon (pricing is suppose to be released tomarrow), the elephant just may be on the verge of becoming fully awake. Remember a while back we were told that all the Verizon outlets would be brought up to speed by 1st qtr. I can say that a good share of the Verizon outlets in the west are coming up to speed in contrast to what seems to be happening in the east. Apparently the old Airtouch outlets are easier to bring on board than the GTE/BAM outlets. Data, Verizon, Arnav, IFN, Scada, Condor, Brazilian busses, maybe Chinese busses, who knows what else. All I know is this elephant is showing a heck of a lot more signs of life than Iridium ever did.
