<<Lady Chadderly's Lover>>

Back in '85 I stayed at the D.H Lawrence Ranch outside of Taos for a few days. My buddy's father was the ramrod there. It's owned by the UNM.

Oddest thing is D.H.'s ashes may or may not be in the little chapel. Story is a woman from Taos stole them. The sign in book has people who have traveled there from all over the world. Lots of people from Japan when I was there.

There is a little channel hand cut in the rock and piped over a canyon that brings in water drip by drip. The drips go into two surplus army tankers for storage. The 24/7/365 are more than is used by the ranch.

We rode some rank horses on a small trail. They smelled a bear and my friend wanted to go check it out. I wanted to return the horses and my friend asked if I was afraid of bears. Told him no, I'd walk back for the picture but I didn't want to be on a horse that hadn't been ridden in two years, 8,000 feet up a mountain, and spooked.

Neat place and if you ever get close stop in.
