I don't know. I don't have an historical database of maxpain to check. I intend to start keeping a log of it as of this options expiry. Since it represents a hodge podge of stocks, seems to me it would move towards max pain, barring market-related news (as opposed to company-related news).

IQ Auto is showing 84 on the QQQ as max pain as of this evening. I am long Dec 86 calls since Friday and Monday with expectations of holding into at least the latter part of this week. I was disappointed by the Fed today, but liked the way the QQQ recovered late. I'm not sure what will happen tomorrow. Probably a lackluster day with the political and Fed-bias inflationary environment. Still, I don't see a lot of downward movement right now. Economic news tomorrow could help.
